Algerian harira
We are in Islamic countries in the month of Ramadan, where people or Muslims fast throughout this month from sunrise until sunset. Of course, this fasting is accompanied by the preparation of popular dishes for breakfast. Among these basic dishes for Algerians is the soup dish, or what is called harira.

The ingredients of Algerian harira soup vary slightly depending on the recipe and local tradition. Below are some of the ingredients that can be used in preparing Algerian harira soup:
Lentils

Onions

Spices (such as cumin, coriander, and black pepper)

Preparing Algerian harira soup
Prepare Algerian harira soup in these steps
Wash the lentils well and leave them aside.
In a large pot, heat the oil and fry the onions until translucent.
Add the washed lentils to the onions and stir them together for a few minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and your favorite spices such as cumin, coriander and black pepper. Stir the ingredients well.
Add water and salt and let the soup boil.
After boiling, reduce the heat and let the soup cook for 30 to 45 minutes until the lentils are completely cooked and the flavors are combined.
Serve the Algerian harira soup hot with a piece of bread.
